Slow cooker love..

I love my new slow cooker......

Can't believe I haven't had one sooner....

What a treat walking in after work and having the aroma hit you as you open the door...

Knowing that dinner is almost ready to go on the plate and there is no mad panic as what to have....

I just need your help though...

I would love for you to point me in the right direction of some full proof tasty recipes...

Share with me what you have found works and are your families favourites....

Monday Monday..

Today was not just an ordinary Monday.....

It is the Monday after our visitors left...

It is the first Monday of two weeks "in school" swim lessons.....

Need I say more....

It is winter......how am I supposed to know where the goggles are or the rash shirt or the bathers for that matter......

We did find them....packed the spare underwear, towel, found goggles and plastic bag to house the wet clothes...

Walking up to the classroom..."Fraser do you have your bathers on???"

Look of horror..."NO do you have them mum?"  what the!

Not wanting to do the whole lesson teaching thing first thing in the morning...I trot back home and gather bathers.....

Remembering that none of his clothing is labeled and most likely to be lost in the flurry of year three boys changing after swim lesson... quickly mark all his clothing with his initials...

Being a home day for me I took the opportunity to wander over to the aquatic centre to watch his lesson....

Upon arrival I am told it will be $ 1.80 to enter for the half hour lesson and sit on a seat...usually a wet one.....what's with that...clearly I was not going to be using the facilities... when did a parent ducking in to watch an in school time lesson warrant payment....

well I'll be at work the rest of the week...so let's hope we are all a bit more organised tomorrow as there will be no trotting home to collect forgotten items....

Oh and let's not mention the wet washing every night that needs drying for the next day ...

A little guy who so graciously joined the other side to help even the match....

The day of reckoning for the piggy bank....

Counting the funds that will help pay for that dream machine....

A night at the circus...part birthday celebrations and part up coming anniversary....

Dinner in a funky part of town following the circus...

Will the ever be an end to the chocolate eating of the past week.....

Chasing the sun today...before the heavens opened up the floodgates tonight.

Things I am loving.

This week.....

We have just farewelled some very good friends, that have been visiting from interstate....

Some of the things I am loving about this last week...

That we have all managed to fit in our little place....

That we have spent some lovely relaxed time catching up....

That my friend is a super talented gal when it comes to organising....

and she organised my kitchen to within an inch of it's life....

Not only my pantry but all my kitchen cupboards...

That my lovely friend bought me a slow cooker...and cooked three super delicious meals for us this week....

That while digging in my cupboards she unearthed some more treasures I had forgotten about....I think her words were...."You could open your own antique shop!"

That I cashed in on her willingness to be busy and we taught ourselves to hang a little wallpaper.....quite successfully too....

That in between all the crazy family stuff and work schedule there was plenty of time to enjoy the sun ......and consume a ridiculous amount of chocolate....

Now they are gone....everyone will shuffle back to their own beds and rooms....we will learn to move around a super organised kitchen....admire the funky new wall....have a fast on the chocolate ( that is after the large block that has been left on the table)....

and be thankful for friends that are so easy to have around...drop in every now and again....

Ten on Ten

1. Woke to the most beautiful clear skies..with evidence of the rain we had yesterday.

2. Bag packed to head out for the day ahead.

3 .Coffee drinking with my man and our visitors from the East.

4. A stroll along our most gorgeous coastline to show off the beauty of where we live.

5. A quick stop to fill the lunch supply order.

6. Roses bought in form the garden...a ritual my husband is very good at.

7 .Some soaking in of the sun...enjoying the slow pace of the day.

8. One little guy excited to be coming home to hang with our house guests.

9. An hour spent at the office waiting for the teen to finish connecting with her peers.

10. Homeward bound with dinner waiting to be consumed.

So glad my reminder went off this morning...it was fun snapping through my day trying not to be too obvious about it. A day where I spent it with my man and some very good friends who are staying.

Reminder in my phone for July...thanks " a bit of sunshine " for the prompt.

:half time at the footy...got love state level where you can watch the game and  then have a kick on the big oval...

:time to jam and hang out with mates...

:having visitors stay is a good excuse to eat out....

Visitors or not it is still Monday tomorrow and the show must go on....hope you have a lovely week ahead of you too.

Sewing class back on today and walking away with two new dresses created....

An extra day and celebrations..

 Western Australia Day saw us have a long weekend......

So we celebrated in our family....

June is a popular birthday month in our extended family....

let me correct that......June the 15th is very popular......

 So because we are all busy and not all here all the time...we celebrated altogether today....

Happy Birthday to my Hubby...

Happy birthday to my Brother in law....

Happy birthday to my nephew....

and Happy Birthday to my nephew in the USA.....

 

 Rocket ship cake for the boys.....of any age......

 

and it was a beautiful winter day with the sun shining so it was great to get out to a place where all the kids could run and play....

 I can't believe we are celebrating the birthday's in the middle of the year already.....

and just quietly we are celebrating something of a milestone this month too....

and our very generous family decided to surprise us with a gift to help us celebrate..... 

so very excited...it is turning out to be a huge month for us...with lots of wonderful things happening....
